Asian Cup 2000     

Jounieh was proud to be the HOME for the ASIAN CUP 2000 in October.  Players, fans and guests  stayed at Holiday Suites Hotel, opposite to the Municipality on the water front, with high-tech facilities, comfort and the best service.

Rally du Liban Summer 2000

Jounieh hosted Michel Saleh at Holiday Suites Hotel, Michel was ranked number 4 in the race. The exposure was great and Michel was an asset to the city during this summer yearly popular event, his cruising in the city streets attracted many fans.

The International Olympics

"Amira" Claire Chehab has been elected in August 1999 by the IOC as a new board member. Lebanon and Jounieh are honored to have the distinguished Municipality Board Member on the International Olympic Committee representing Lebanon, congratulation Amira Claire.  Australia was the host of the 2000 games, Greece is the birthplace of the Modern Games and the IOC president is Juan Antonio Samaranch.
